Get Away

The little man and I are traveling down to Wimberley today.
My first cousin is getting married!
We will be traveling down with our entire family.
And stop to pick up sister in Austin along the way.
Can't wait to see the beautiful Texas hill country.
So excited about the weekend wedding.
And hanging out with the fam.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.
I will share pics next week!
Take care.

What I Wore

Hi there!
Welcome to What I Wore.
Week number 4!
Wow.

So, my Great Granny {who I was fortunate to know most of my life}
LOVED to sew.
And, she was fabulous at it.
As a child, every year she sewed me a new Easter dress.
Along with my sister and my cousins.
Sadly, we lost her 4 years ago.
We JUST went through her things this last year.
Our entire family was there.
It was bittersweet.

This is one of my favorite shirts that SHE made for HERSELF.
It now belongs to me.
And will always be my Granny Dlabaj shirt.
I love it.
Almost as much as those sweet Easter dresses she made for me years ago.

Purse purchased at Target last summer for $3.
Told you guys I AM a bargain hunter!

Sandals: Target
Cut off blue jeans: Thrifted

Have a fabulous day friends!

New Shop Goodness

Hello friends!
Things have been CRAZY busy here.
Not complaining one bit.
So thankful!
Just sayin'
I wanted to share a few new goodies with you!

I am so happy with the way these little pumpkins turned out!
I plan on making more and adding them to my shop as well.
These three come as one set.

Who doesn't LOVE burlap?
And this necklace would go with just about any outfit!
Really thought about keeping it for myself.
But listed it in my etsy shop instead.
*Sigh*

Also, took lots of candles up to my booth at Old Town Village Antiques.
I was there just last week and this is all that is left!
I see LOTS more candle making in my future.

And, these two lovely linen clutches will soon be listed in the shop.
Have a great day all and take care!

Cinnamon and Sugar Pie

Growing up Mama would always make this "pie" for sister and I.
We loved it. Still do.
And now, my little ones love it as well.
Grab a frozen pie crust, butter, cinnamon and sugar.
Spread some butter on the crust.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
Follow directions on package {for temp and time}

You really cannot mess this baby up!
Not sure that you will consider it a "pie"
Seeing how super easy it is.
And, the only filling is sprinkled cinnamon and sugar!
Yum, the perfect fall treat.

The kids get so excited when they see me bust out with that pie crust.
Seriously.
Makes me happy.

And, makes me smile thinking about memories from my childhood.
With Mama, sister and I.

And then.
I remember.
How we ALWAYS would FIGHT for the last piece.
Everytime.
And now my kids do the same thing.
:)

Our Living Space

So, this is our living space.
Welcome!
Grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile.
We painted it back in the summer.
We couldn't be happier with the color we picked!

This is our little vintage wash basin turned coffee table.
You can read about how the hubs made it here.

And, our couch is one of are latest thrifting finds.
I promise to share more about it in a future post.
It will be a must read for you bargain hunters out there!

I have a "less is more" philosophy when it comes to decorating.
Personally, I like a clean and simple look.
But also want to create a warm and cozy atmosphere for my family.
We spend ALOT of time in this room,
and we couldn't be more happy with it!

Our simple fall mantle.
Soon, to have more pumpkins added!

We have had these chairs for YEARS.
And we still love them!

Another view of THE couch.
{Ahhhhh~Angels singing}
If you only knew the story behind this bad boy!
Soon my friends, soon!

Vintage corner shelves.
Again, had for years!

Amen to this little sign!
{A lovely gift from my SIL/BFF}

Do What You Love. Love What You Do.

There is a good chance that this is what our kitchen will look like,
from now, until the end of December.
Seriously.
Every inch of countertop,
covered with candles!
This is my super busy time of year.
And, I will take every single second of it!

And these lovely boxes also can be seen in just about every corner of our house!

This may or may not be our kitchen table.
{Covered with candle making "decor"}
Since 5am today.

Loads of Creme Brulee goodness.
Still my #1 seller after 7 years!

I am so very blessed to be able to do "what I do"
Without the support of the hubs,
and my lovely children {of course}
I simply could.not.do.it.
What a blessing.

Antique Alley

The hubs and I went to Antique Alley last weekend.
This happens two times a year and EVERY time we have gone,
it has been SO hot {95-100 temps!}
However, this year was so much nicer, with temps in the high 80's.

We had to "dig" but boy, did we find some good deals!

There was so.much.stuff.everywhere.
We could have easily spent the entire weekend going through everything!

Oh.no.you.di-int.
Oh.yes, I did.
I couldn't resist snapping a picture of this lovely lady.
I mean, WHY, seriously?
This is just a GLIMPSE of some of the CRAZY stuff we saw.
We laughed, and laughed and laughed....

And being totally,
100% honest.
The thing I most enjoyed this year about Antique Alley,
was WHO I was there with!
Loves the hubs.

After having a great dinner at our favorite secret spot,
We stopped and treated ourselves to one of these babies.
Yum!
Here's to next year. Can't wait!
