Vintage Vanity Organized

The hubs gave me this vinatge vanity for my very first Mother's Day.

{Almost nine years ago}

Wow!

I had been eye balling it for years,

yes, you read that right,

YEARS,

at a local antique shop.

It was love at first sight for me,

however, the price was WAY out of our one income budget.

He put it in lay-away and surprised me with it.

He is amazing!

I will always cherish the memory behind this little vanity.

That being said,

I used for everything EXCEPT what it was intended for.

I know, I know.

What the heck? Right!

Needless to say,

I will now actually be SITTING here,

to put on my makeup and jewelry!

Well, I am bound and determined to get {AND STAY}

organized in 2012. This was ONE project I have been waiting to tackle.

Ummm, so yea, this is the before!

Wow, it is somewhat hard for me to share this picture!

Now granted,

it does not always look THIS bad,

but DOES always have "stuff" piled on top of it!

Poor little necklace holder, you can't even see it!

And here is the after.

You can ACTUALLY tell, it is a vanity!

Yay!

All of the jewelry is now IN the drawers!

I simply used what I had around the house to put everything in.

Little boxes and baskets.

You will be surprised what you "have" laying around,

once you set your mind to something!

I also put most of the necklaces in a drawer.

{Leaving out the more "simple ones" on my necklace holder}

This is going to be challenging for me.

I ALWAYS put my glasses on top of the vanity,

it is just SO easy to do, BUT,

now they have a drawer!

I think I can, I think I can!

:)

SO HAPPY with the end result!

It almost feels like I have a brand new {old} piece of furniture!
