No Sew Braided Cowl

I have been wanting so badly to learn to crochet/knit.
My mother in law knits fabulous afghans.
They are so beautiful.
{I am hoping one day she will teach me}

Until then,
I decided to make my own cowl.
Doing it the only way I knew how.
Braiding!

I thought I would share this super easy tutorial with all of you.
That way, you too can sport a fabulous braided cowl this winter!
;)

You will need one bundle of yarn.
And a nice steaming cup of hot tea.
{Tea is totally optional, however, I highly advise it}
:)

Begin by measuring and cutting strips of yarn that are 42" long.
Do this until you have no yarn left!

Tie 12-14 pieces in a knot,
Braid all the way to the bottom.
Tie another knot.

Attach the ends together to make a circle.
Super simple,
just tie the ends to hold in place!

Keep repeating this process until you have used your yarn.
Stack all of your braids together as pictured above!
Be sure to keep one or two pieces of yarn for the last step.

Tie a know around all of your "knots" that you have tied together.
Wrap around several times until secure.
Tiw with another knot.

No worries if it is not perfect,
the "knot" will be hidden behind your neck anyway!

Now,
go find some yarn and whip yourself up a cowl!
You CAN do IT!

what a very cute cowl. You tube is great for tutorials on how to crochet. If you search for Art of Crochet by Teresa (she goes by Crochet Geek now). I was able to go from beginner to intermediate patterns by my 3rd project.
