Thrifty Kitchen Decor

Hi there!
As promised, I am back with part three to my thrifty decor series.
You can view part one here and part two here.

This little series has gotten a bit of attention.
I am so happy that you all have been inspired to decorate on a budget.
Thank you so much for the kind comments, emails and features.
I am truly honored that sharing a bit of our home has served as inspiration for you.

I have always been a big time thrifter.
Even as a child, I loved to make something out of nothing.
And, almost everything I share here in my blog is "thrifty" in one way or another.

Growing up, it was just my Mama, sister and I.
We did without. Alot.
Especially when Mama was putting herself through college.
We made "do" with what we had.
 We didn't have much, but we had each other.
That I wouldn't trade for the world.
It has made me who I am today!
But, that's a story for another day.

I learned to get crafty at a very early age.
And, have carried that through my life.
I am truly blessed with the life I have been given.

I am so excited to share part three of the series with you today.
Thrifty Kitchen Decor.

We are actually woking on some updates in our kitchen.
{Which I will share soon. Promise!}
:)
However, today I will share some of the thrifty items I use to decorate with.

Black and white toile plates {Target. Had forever. $5 for both}
Better Homes and Gardens Buffet Lamps {Walmart. $20 for the pair}
Vintage frame {From a dear friend} that we turned into a mirror {Free}
Vintage doily {Estate Sale $1}
Pears {Walmart. $4}
Mercury glass bowl {Target. Clearance. Years ago. $8}

Clock. {Target. Again, old! $15}
 Wreath. {Antique shop. $5}

HUGE vintage brown basket. {Roadside find. Seriously! Free}
"Z" {Hobby Lobby, $5}
FYI~Our last name may or may not start with the letter "Z"
;)

Vintage ladder that we turned into a pot rack. {Antique Shop. $25}
All of the enamel pieces were thrifted.
 If I had to guess, I would say $25 for everything.

One of our kitchen island stools. {Antique Shop. $16}

Vintage black cabinet that we use as a sideboard.
{Antique Shop. $95}

I have to be honest and tell you, this was a splurge for us.
We used a portion of our income tax refund a few years ago.
Orginally, we used this piece under our television.
And, like everything else we own,
it has been moved to several locations around our house!

I just love the little glass knobs on it.
It now holds candles.
Go figure!

Greenery. {Hobby Lobby $4}
White tin planter. {Thrifted $3}

Chalkboard platter, made by me. {Platter purchased at Walmart for $8}
If you don't have a chalkboard in your kitchen,
get one or better yet, make one!
:)

 It is one of my favorite items in our home.
I LOVE putting little quotes in it.
The kids love drawing on it.
Love, love, love chalkboards!

So, that makes a grand total of $239 for all of the items pictured.
Not too shabby!
:)

Thanks for sticking with me through this post.
I will be back later in the week with part four to the series.
