Are you ready for one of the best recipes,
EVER?
:)
Seriously.
I had these for the first time at a baby shower.
My fabulous aunt made them.
My fabulous aunt made them.
Oh.my.word.
THEY ARE SO YUMMY!
While this is not the exact same recipe she used,
{because I forgot to get it from her}
:)
It is a recipe that is very similar.
I am not even kidding when I tell you I will be making these once a week.
They were a huge hit with the hubs and kids!
You will need:
One package of hawaiian sweet rolls.
One package of hawaiian sweet rolls.
One package of honey ham {and brand}
One package of sliced swiss cheese {any brand}
Cook in small saucepan, over medium heat, until sugar disolves:
1 stick of butter
1 tbs. mustard
1 tbs. worcestershire sauce
1 tbs. poppy seeds
1/4 c. brown sugar
Pour your sauce over your rolls.
Let them sit at room temp for two hours.
Split your rolls in half.
Place ham and chesse inside of rolls.
Place your rolls in a dish.
Make sure you rolls are side by side.
{Very close together}
This will prevent them from getting soggy on bottom.
Pour your sauce over your rolls.
Let them sit at room temp for two hours.
Cover with foil.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or so.
Enjoy!
I am telling you my friends,
this recipe is a keeper.
Try it, you will see!
Be sure and let me know what ya think if you do!

We have made a similar sandwich in my family for years. It was one of the few things my Mom made that we could stand to eat. ( she has never been a good cook ). Here is how ours differed. The spread instead of a sauce. I just use equal parts of butter and BROWN SPICEY MUSTARD (makes a world of difference) and poppy seeds. Spread it on the buns top with ham and swiss and bake till its all warm and bubbly.
You're right , they do have the best flavor !
