Vintage Shabby Door Turned Table

When the hubs and I were engaged,
{about twelve years ago}
we lived in a rent house WAY out in the country.

One day on our way home, we spotted an old door in the ditch.
Of course we slammed on the brakes, put it in reverse and jumped out of the car!
:)

The door came home with us and has been used in various ways during the past twelve years.

We recently decided to turn our old shabby vintage door into a table.

The hubs took the four legs off of an old table of ours.
 {We used the butcher block top of the table for our old kitchen island}

At the time, we had no use for the four legs.
The hubs decided to hold onto them though.
Thank goodness he did!
He knew that we would be able to put them to good use someday.
:)

We then attached the legs to the bottom of our old door.
The legs were painted white and then sanded, to match the door.

That being said, we did absolutely nothing to the door itself!
It was in fabulous shabby chic condition when we found it.
Old, white and chippy.
And, we.love.it.
:)

For now, our new {old} table is sitting on our porch.
We couldn't be happier with the way this table came out!

It is perfect for when we are sipping our sweet tea and chatting on the porch!
:)

Thanks for stopping by today my friends!

Linking up with these lovely ladies today.

Those old doors always have some other purpose, don't they? Yours looks so sweet on your porch, just right for sitting down for a good chat with a cup of tea! Those legs really set it off as well.. good choice!
