Hey there my sweet friends!
Boy, you all sure know how to make a gal feel special!
So many of you have left the kindest comments.
Especially about our latest DIY project.
Thank you so very much,
so many of your words have brought tears to my eyes.
Seriously.
And I SO appreciate you taking the time to comment.
I am working on answering emails.
I have gotten alot of questions about our home in the last week.
You will be hearing from me soon friends!
If you have a specific question please feel free to email me.
I am not always the best about "commenting back"
however, I do my best to answer emails!
Okay, so on to today's project that I want to share with you!
The hubs and I purchased this little buffet years ago.
The way it looks in the above photo,
is how it has stayed for a while now.
While I did love it this way,
I have always kept my eye out for shelves to put on top.
When I would find them,
sadly they were either to big or to small.
So, last week, the hubs and I were chatting about shelves.
{Typical conversation between husband and wife, right?}
;)
We paid a visit to our "leftover" wood pile,
in the garage, of course!
Hubs took a look at what we had.
He knew right away he could build shelves,
just with using what we had!
After he finishing piecing some scrap wood together,
we decided to paint her black.
He then brought her in,
and put her on top of the buffet,
for me to "accessorize."
{Enter little man and HIS "accessories"}
:)
Mama's little helper!
He's a keeper, I tell ya!
{Just had to share this picture with you guys}
So, here we have our new little hutch!
Not only did we use what we had to build the shelves,
I bought absolutely NOTHING to accessorize with.
Everything you see, I already had.
Either in cabinets,
not being used,
around the house,
or my home decor store {up in our attic}
:)
I am very thankful for this new little space in our home.
Already getting excited about decorating it for the holiday season.
Yes, I know, I am weird like that.
The lesson here folks.
Oh yeah, you KNOW there is one!
Use what you have {of course}
but ALSO,
think OUTSIDE of the box.
Get creative.
Those white plates were taking up cabinet space.
Along with that cutting board that is ten years old!
Everything else was around the house,
or not even being used!
What about you?
Any new projects going on lately?
I would love to hear about them!
Now, go shop your house and do some decoratin'
Take care y'all!
Until next time.
XOXO

Great Job! It looks fabulous. Don't ya just love it when things just come together like that!?!
So many ideas to glean from this - the white china contrasting with the dark hutch; spoons in the jar, and the chalk board prayer tops it all. Lovely!
that looks great! i love how you made that into a hutch.
oh amanda...please come to my house and redo one for my dining room! sigh. I l.o.v.e it!
Found you through the 36th avenue's linky party. I'll definitely be back!

Just popped over from Under the Table, I love your hutch decor! I'm always looking for a little inspiration for mine. Mine's a sad collection of randomness...kind of like your son's try at it! haha (Little Cutie). I made some super hero cookies the other day that I'm sure he would have loved!
