So, a while back, I tried the pioneer womans iced coffee recipe.
It looked and sounded simple enough to me,
and the hubs and I love us some iced coffee.
So, I thought, what the heck?
First I went out and bought this can of fabulous coffee.
Can I just tell you that if we still had our coffee maker,
{and weren't addicted to our keurig and k-cups}
this is absolutely the only coffee we would ever buy.
Sister has sworn by this coffee for years.
It is so delicious, truly!
You must try it.
Okay,
so back to the recipe.
Basically, you need to get out the biggest dish or pan you have in your cabinet!
Dump the whole can of coffee in your dish.
I used a smaller can than the lovely pioneer woman,
so I only added six quarts of water to my coffee.
Cover with lid {or foil if need be}
let sit for a.long.time.
I let ours sit overnight.
Yes, I am serious.
This is the messy part.
This is also the part where you make a huge mess,
both hands are covered in coffee grinds,
so you can't take any photos.
Oh wait,
that's just me, not you.
Okay,
so you need some sort of strainer.
Line it with paper towels.
Hold the strainer over your container that will hold your coffee.
SLOWLY pour the water/coffee mixture in your strainer.
There will be coffee grinds,
{yes, even the pioneer woman had these}
But if you work slowly 99% of them will be filtered out.
Be patient,
it will pay off!
Our coffee lasted four weeks in the fridge.
When you decide to "prepare" a glass,
I suggest filling your glass with ice first,
then half full with coffee.
Add milk and a bit of flavored creamer.
And,
Oh.My.Lawd.
Never pay $5,246 for a cup of iced coffee again!
Sharing with these ladies this week.
Happy Sunday my friends!
:)

I have been wanting to try her recipe for the longest time. I finally found cheesecloth (at the hardware store, ha!) to strain my coffee. I'm glad to get a second opinion that it is yummy and worth the effort. :)
Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks delish!!!!
Yummy! I love my iced coffee and always keep a pitcher full of it in the fridge so when I have the urge for a cold drink it's there. Found you through the Blog Hop--following along. You have a great blog!

I've almost tried that coffee brand several times but never ended up buying it - I'll have to give it a try next time. Been wandering around your blog & love it! I wish I could get 'into' coffee...but sweet tea's more my 'thang'! But this looks like it would be good maybe for a brunch shower or something.
Found your blog through the blog hop! New follower! You're too cute! Love the headband in your profile pic!
I haven't had anything bad from pioneer woman so I know this is most likely amazing!
Found your blog through the GFC blog hop!
If you have an ice cube tray, make some coffee ice cubes. That way your coffee doesn't get watered down as the ice melts. Love iced coffee!
